Q&A

I received an email asking me to do a Q&A just so everyone can get to know me better. (some of these are on the more serious side  and then some of them are just for fun) So lets get started! 1.    What is your favorite color? My favorite color is yellow. That has been my favorite color ever since I was a young girl, but I also like orange as well. 2. What was it like growing up with a twin? Oh man, I absolutely LOVED it! There's always someone to do something with. Plus we always got a lot of attention because twins weren't as popular as they are now. (no, that does not mean I'm old either) 3. If you could go anywhere on a dream vacation, where would it be and why? That's a tough question. There is SO many places that I want to go, I'll just say my top 5 places because any of them would be my dream vacation (they're in no particular order)...  1. Italy 2. England 3. Hawaii 4. Alaska 5. Ireland 4. What is the best advic...

Constantly Learning...

I'm so glad that I was asked to write a blog about what lessons I learned growing up with entrepreneurial  parents because I feel like no one ever gets to see the children's point of view on a subject such as this. I was blessed with great parents who wanted to give my twin sister and I the world. My dad started his own businesses so that my mom could stay home and be a homemaker before my dad decided to open up a business my mom was a NICU nurse. My parents were constantly teaching Leah and myself everything that they could so that one day we could provide a wonderful life for our future families. I'm pretty sure we have like 4 PhD's with the lessons that we have been taught...kidding...well only kind of. I've been taught so much by my parents that if I can help someone else with some of the lessons then my life will be content. You see I'm a teacher by trade so I love helping people--any way that I can. So with that being said here are my top four lessons: ...

Humility

Lets get real for a minute about humility. I know that this is something that I struggle with on the daily and I have to constantly remind myself to be humble and stay the course that Heavenly Father wants me to be on. Like most everyone I have dreams and aspirations, that I know take time to accomplish but I am human and I want to accomplish them now, I hate waiting. I don't want to have to work for them but I've been taught that when you work for things you appreciate them that much more and I can testify that what I have been taught is true. I am always amazed at the fact that when I become not as humbled as I should be something always happens and I become humbled again--crazy right? Maybe not but seriously, being humble is a good thing whether you want to admit it or not. Forbes  magazine posted 13 habits of humble people and I want to share some of them with you because I think they're pretty great. 1. They're situationally aware 2. They retain relationship...

Spring Break 2016

This year I was FINALLY able to go on a spring break trip with my family, which was much needed. You see usually my school schedule and work schedule never coincide with when my family is taking their annual trip to the lovely KW but this year it did! I was so excited to be able to go this trip! This year (and every other year) we traveled to Key West, Florida and OMG it was amazing! Even though it was a long(er) trip it was well worth it! There is so much to do there, even if the place itself is only 3 miles wide. My favorite thing to do is the Conch Train ride, its a little train/trolley ride that takes you around KW and tells you historical facts about the place, (maybe I love it a little too much because I am a history guru). But in all seriousness it is nice to actually get away from the demands of life and enjoy time with family and it doesn't hurt that it was in such a beautiful place surrounded by the ocean. On our way to Key West and on our way back home, we stopped at...
