Come What May...

HELLO!!! It's so good to be back from a much needed break! I wanted to chat for just a minute about something that has been on my mind for a few days now.... And it's this dear quote from a very guy named Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin. (if you don't know who he is, I encourage you find out) This quote has been on my mind as I plan my future and find out what is in store for me. I love this quote so much, that I am thinking about printing it out and hanging it. This quote is such a sweet reminder to enjoy the moment. I think this quote is such a simple reminder that HE is always there and is cheering you on. He wants you to do well and love the blessings that He is willing to bestow upon you if you will let Him. I hope that you take the time and ponder this quote and think about how you can apply it to your life. XOXOXO!

Note To Self:

Hello All! I hope everyone is doing great! The topic I'm about to write about has been on my mind for quite some time and it's a hard lesson to learn but if we don't learn it I don't feel as though we can truly be happy with ourselves, with our relationships with others, or with our lives. The topic I am going to talk about is LOVING YOURSELF/ DOING THINGS FOR YOURSELF There are people out there who will say that this seems selfish and I can totally see where they get that statement from But you have to love yourself and focus on yourself before you can truly make others happy. Loving yourself doesn't necessarily mean that you have to spoil yourself with whatever you've been wanting it means that you have to love yourself with whatever is thrown your way, love yourself through the thick and the thin. Some may ask what are some ways to love yourself... Well lucky for you I have some suggestions: 1. Don't be negative towards yourself 2....

What Independence Day Means to Me

HELLO EVERYONE! I know this is the third time that I've posted this week, crazy right? But I just wanted to take a minute and post about what Independence Day means to me. I know for a lot of people it means bbq's, swimming,  and fireworks. While all of those things are great and don't get me wrong I love them too it has a somewhat deeper meaning for me and I thought I would share just a smidge of it. I love the fourth of July. I love the colors and the meaning behind this holiday. It's important to me because without all of the sacrifice that so many of our men and women fought for us to have who knows where we honestly would be right now. I'm so incredibly grateful that those men and women fought for me and my freedoms...there's no way that I/we would be ever able to repay them. Independence Day to me means that you celebrate and be thankful for your freedoms, I believe that should be your main focus because without them you may not be ...

Love Your Parents

(excuse the bad lighting) I was sitting in Geology class the other day watching a film on the devastations of tornadoes and I got an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my parents. I know for a fact that I have kept my parents on their toes more than they would like to be. I was that teenager that knew "everything" and didn't need the advice from my parents and when my parents told me to be home from a date at 11:00, I was sure to be there at 11:01 to just to prove to them I was an "adult" by the way I totally DONT recommend doing that because it just gets you in more trouble. It seems these days that children take their parents for granted, which is sad to me. You might be saying "how do you know?" Hello, one of my jobs/hobbies is working with children. I will be forever grateful to have my parents. They've taught me a lot and I hope that I am half of the parents they were to my sister and myself. Best, Leslie

2016: A Year of Learning and Thankfulness

2016. This year has definitely been a year of learning. Learning who I am and who I'm suppose to become. I've learned this year that I can do anything that I set my mind to do and that I just need possible.  I'm not who I was a year ago and I've learned to be okay with that. I'm coming to terms with the fact that I'm a totally different person than I was even two years ago. I've learned that life goes on. And I've learned that things don't always go as planned. I've learned that things happen for a reason and that things happen in Heavenly Father's time, not ours. I've learned that our plans don't always go accordingly and to be grateful for every moment because we won't be able to get those moments back. This year I've also learned to be thankful. Thankful for my family, who support me, in every decision I make. Thankful for my warm home on winter nights and a cool home on those warm July days. I'm th...

Let's Bake

So last night in my spanish class I somehow talked my spanish teacher into giving us extra credit if we brought in a Mexican dish to share with everyone. (I was so worried about my spanish midterm) I chose to bring a dessert since my girl Krystal decided to bring the appetizers and Justin is bringing the main course. I decided to make a Tres Leche Cake and I'm super excited about it because I've never made a spanish dessert before! Here's the  recipe  if you're interested in making it with me. Shoot me an email and tell me what you think! [simplyleslieann1@gmail.com] XOXO, Leslie Ann
